I'm so happy to meet you!

hi, I'm karen.

Let's chat!

I'm your friendly neighborhood baby-chaser, memory-maker, and professional confetti wrangler. If you've ever tried to get a toddler to sit still for a photoshoot, you know it's basically a contact sport. Lucky for you, that's my happy place. With a camera in one hand, and a confetti cannon in the other, I specialize in turning pure chaos into magical, joy-filled images you'll treasure forever.

Whether we're dancing to baby shark in the studio, or I'm playing peek-a-boo behind the camera, I'm here to make your photo session feel less like a chore, and more like a really fun hangout that ends with beautiful, heartfelt images that you'll want on every wall of your home.

When I'm not behind the lens, you'll find me sipping cold coffee (thanks kids), dreaming up new cake smash themes, or rearranging the props in my studio like I'm on an HGTV show no one asked for.

frequently asked questions

how can i book my session now?

The best way to begin the booking process is to use my contact form. After your inquiry is sent in, I will send a booking package!

do you bake your own smash cakes?

Definitely not, this is sadly not a talent that I have. For my smash cakes, I use a very talented baker that can make any wishes come true.

What is your fave time of year for outdoor sessions?

I will always be in love with fall photos. Our fall seasons can be pretty brief, but once those colors come out, nothing beats it!

when did you start your business?

I started my business in 2016, as a fun side hobby. 9 years later, and I'm still in love with what I do!

how did you get into photography?

I took photography classes in high school and college, and fell in love. When my kids were born, I couldn't stop taking pictures of their cute faces, and decided to start offering photography to friends and family. It has snowballed from there!

where are you located?

I have a studio in Chugiak, Alaska, but can travel to the Anchorage and Mat-Su areas for photo sessions.

if you did a cake smash, what would be your theme?

Such a tough decision! I am usually pretty partial to anything that includes stars, or the sun, but I also love confetti!

Where is your favorite vacation spot?

Anywhere with a beach and a cocktail!
