Those early newborn days go by in a blur — the sleepy stretches, the tiny fingers, the way they curl up so naturally. A wrapped newborn session is designed to gently preserve those moments in the most peaceful and natural way.
If you’re feeling a little nervous about how your baby will do during photos, you’re not alone. The good news? Wrapped sessions are specifically designed to keep babies calm, comfortable, and sleepy the entire time.
What is a wrapped newborn session?
A wrapped newborn session focuses on swaddling your baby snugly in soft, cozy fabrics so they feel safe and secure — just like they did in the womb.
This style of session is:
- Calm and baby-led
- Focused on simple, timeless setups
- Perfect for sleepy, curled-up poses
- Ideal for babies who prefer to stay wrapped
Because baby stays swaddled, there’s less movement, which means smoother transitions and a more relaxed experience overall.

Why wrapped sessions work so well.
Let’s be honest — newborns run the show. And that’s exactly why swaddling is so magical.
When babies are wrapped:
- They feel secure and settle faster
- Startle reflex is minimized
- They stay asleep longer
- Posing is gentle and natural
This allows me to create a full gallery of beautiful images without needing to move baby into complex poses.

When to schedule your session.
The best time for a newborn session is within the first 1-2 weeks after birth, when babies are still extra sleepy and naturally curled.
That said — swaddled sessions are very forgiving! If your baby is a little older, we can still create beautiful, cozy images.
Pro tip: It’s best to book during pregnancy to reserve your spot, and then we’ll finalize your session once baby arrives.

What you need to bring (Hint: not much).
One of the best parts of a swaddled newborn session? You don’t have to stress about prepping a million things.
I provide:
- All wraps, fabrics, and styling
- Carefully curated color palettes
- Props and setups
You just need to bring:
- Baby
- Extra milk/formula
- A pacifier (even if they don’t usually take one — it can help!)
- Diapers/Wipes

My goal is for your session to feel calm, slow, and completely stress-free. We take breaks as needed for feeding, soothing, and snuggles — there’s no rush, and no pressure. Most of the time, babies sleep right through it.
And if they don’t? That’s okay too. Swaddling helps us gently guide them back into that cozy, settled state.
Let’s Capture These First Days
Newborn sessions are best reserved during pregnancy to ensure availability around your due date.
If you’re expecting and want a calm, fully guided experience, I’d love to create something beautiful for your family.
